Benefits for Health Plan Customers

Transitioning from legacy systems to the AWS cloud offers key advantages that directly align with the operational and strategic goals of modern health plans.

Feature

Benefit of AWS Cloud

Limitation of Legacy Systems

Agility

Rapidly respond to evolving regulations and market demands.

Slow to adapt and require significant resources to update.

Innovation

Access cutting-edge AI, automation, and data integration.

Lack the elasticity and modern architecture to support new tech.

Efficiency

Eliminate data silos and create unified, modern workflows.

Often create data silos and inefficient, monolithic processes.

Security & Compliance

Align with frameworks for Star Ratings, HEDIS, and other quality measures.

Difficult and costly to maintain modern security and compliance standards.

By moving to the cloud, HealthEdge empowers your organization to accelerate workflows, enable proactive management with real-time data, and reduce the inefficiencies caused by outdated applications. The Cloud Migration Timeline and Process

We have designed a carefully phased migration plan to be completed over the next 24 to 36 months. This approach ensures minimal disruption and provides ample opportunity for customer feedback and adaptation.

Phased Rollout Plan:

  1. Proof of Concept & Vendor Selection: Completed; AWS selected as our strategic cloud provider.
  2. Landing Zone Construction: Building out the foundational infrastructure in AWS.
  3. Internal Environment Migration: Migrating non-customer and internal systems (beginning July 2025 through the following 21 months).
  4. Lower Environment Rollout: Transitioning non-production systems for customers.
  5. Phased Customer Environment Rollout: Conducting phased rollouts and testing of existing customer production environments by 2026.

Customer Impact and Support

Our implementation strategy is designed to protect your data and ensure critical operations remain unaffected.

Impact on Day-to-Day Operations

The phased migration is structured to minimize interruptions. We will provide access to testing environments to identify and resolve any potential issues in advance, with a focus on ensuring your current workflows and integrations are fully supported in the new cloud environment.

IT Team Requirements

The anticipated lift for customer IT teams is expected to be moderate. Early planning should include:

  • Resource Planning: Prepare for phased engagement involving infrastructure assessment, data validation, and system compatibility checks.
  • Staffing Needs: Allocate bandwidth for cloud readiness, integration testing, and potential training.
  • Support Coordination: Work with HealthEdge’s technical specialists to streamline the transition.

More detailed guidance on timelines and resource estimates will be provided as the technical analysis is finalized.

Transparency and Support

We are committed to a transparent and collaborative process.

  • Regular Updates: Your teams will receive consistent communication from the start.
  • Beta Programs: Access to initial beta programs and testing environments will be available.
  • Clear Monitoring: A "single pane of glass" will provide clear insights into system status.
  • Dedicated Support: Customer engagement teams and consulting partners will be available to address questions, provide updates, and facilitate training.
