HealthEdge Announces Winners of its HEX Day for Developers

Company-wide initiative highlights employee creativity and innovation

Burlington, MA, April 8, 2020 – HealthEdge®, provider of the industry’s leading integrated financial, administrative and clinical platform for health insurers, HealthRules Payor ®, announced the winners of its HealthEdge Exploration Day, a hack-a-thon that brought together all departments within the company to create projects, test concepts and theories, and use technology that may not yet be in use. Thirty-four teams – comprised of experts from different areas of the company – gathered last month to join colleagues for a fun experience of making discoveries. Winners were chosen in three product categories: Product, Process & Tools and Automate.

HealthEdge hosted this year’s HEX Day to provide its employees with a creative and innovative outlet to work together outside of their daily roles. Offering the chance to develop projects with the potential to add to a product or process within the company, HEX Day gave HealthEdge employees the downtime to take a known problem and – with the gift of time outside of customer commitments – work holistically toward a common goal. This year’s winners are:

PRODUCT Category: Smart HealthRules Language 

Team Members: Rahul Sharma, Sachin Garg, James West

Project: Reduce the HealthRules Language learning curve for customers and partners and increase early impact factor during a sales demonstration

PROCESS & TOOLS Category: Schema Solutions 

Team: Sean Frazer, Ashish Desai, Deepak Thomas, Liz Hryniewich

Project: Containerizing the OLTP/DW schema to reduce the overall HealthEdge Product suite install time

AUTOMATE Category: Better Call Jimmy

Team: Nikita Gulabani, Sirisha Gelli, Parvathy Sabbina, Santosh Varanganti

Project: A personal assistant bot to help Human Resources with recruit screening

These projects along with several others, from previous HEX Days, have been green-lighted to continue to build out a proof of concept or have contributed to existing HealthRules software product features.
